Topic: Somatic experience of emotion in emotionally focused couple therapy: Experienced trainers views and experiences
This presentation aims at walking through the descriptions of seasoned EFT therapists of somatic experiences of emotion in their work. The interviewed therapists expressed that somatic experiences plays an important role in their therapeutic work with couples. Their descriptions depict firsthand experience of the benefits of paying attention to and deliberate use of somatic experiences of both themselves as well as their clients. They also made it clear that their own somatic experiences in response to each individual in the coupe help them develop a deeper understanding of their clients.
